Maki Nekhavhambe is currently working for the Department of Education in Gauteng province. She has 24- and 16-years’ experience of teaching mathematics and physical science, respectively. She was appointed acting HOD for both mathematics and physical sciences, and then appointed HOD. She was appointed as a marker, senior marker, and chief marker for the national senior certificate for mathematics.
Maki was appointed as a cluster leader for mathematics for all high schools in Tembisa, as well as a lead teacher for both GET (General Education and Training) and FET (Further Education and Training) when (CAPS) Curriculum Assessment Policy Statements was introduced, and is still the lead teacher.
She worked for Kutlwanong, de Deers as mathematics facilitator and Centre coordinator at the University of Johannesburg. She is an assessor and moderator (with a competitive edge). She is a provincial examiner for mathematics, and is currently working as a deputy principal at Diversity High School in charge of curriculum, administrative while still teaching mathematics.
