    Mr Mashamba is a qualified and registered professional geologist with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP). Through his drive towards quality and excellence, he was honoured by Golden Key International Honour Society for being amongst the top 15% of the University of the Free State in all faculties during the 2009 academic year

    He started his career in geological sciences with Coal of Africa Ltd as a geologist in 2012. He has worked in various operations and performed different roles independently for a period of more than seven years.

    During this period, he provided professional geological services and scientific-technical advice to the sites he was involved in.

    Mr Mashamba has more than 7 years’ experience across the exploration and mining of coal deposits.

    He also worked for Vaalbult Mining Company Pty Ltd as a Senior Geologist and played an advisory role to the board of the company in issues pertaining to future minerals prospects.
    In 2019, he joined Msobo Coal (Pty) Ltd as a Regional Geologist where he is responsible for several mining operations and mineral prospects. He also co-founded a private consulting company, M&O Technical Services (Pty) Ltd, where he provides consulting services to small and medium mining companies.

    Mr Mashamba is enthusiastic about helping young upcoming kids and students from all walks of life, and played a role as an ambassador for the Coal of Africa Ltd Bursary fund where he visited rural and urban schools to inspire scholars to take education seriously and to stimulate the interest of the learners to take mining-related courses as a career. In 2017, he was involved in the Limpopo Department of Mineral Resources (DMR) science exhibition
    and career guidance for top performing schools within the Vhembe District as one of the adjudicators during the science exhibition.
